Refreshing Website Design for a Feedback-Focused Social Impact Nonprofit

Listen4Good website redesign case study

The Challenge

Listen4Good supports organizations across the social sector increase the impact of their work by unlocking actionable feedback and insights with the communities they serve.

Having started as an internal initiative of the Fund for Shared Insight, Listen4Good recently launched as a standalone entity  and is broadening their scope of services. As the team reviewed their offerings and the ideal user journeys of their target audience, they realized their existing WordPress website needed improvements that were challenging to implement and in particular, they needed to create clearer user journeys for funders versus nonprofits.

At this moment of growth, we took the opportunity to refresh the WordPress website, alongside a content audit and refinement of the existing Listen4Good visual identity.

I want to express my gratitude to Ed for his support during our website revamp and launch. I am truly amazed how smoothly the process went — credit to all his careful preparation work and strong project management!

Our Process

Working together with the Listen4Good team, we started our process with a detailed content audit of the existing website and a review of program offerings and target audiences. We used this work to establish how pages and content types on the website support different user journeys, and identified gaps where additional content was needed.

In partnership with Maria Guerriero of Germinate Creative, we reviewed Listen4Good’s existing brand identity, and made recommendations to reduce complexity and refine visuals ahead of the new website design. While key components remain unchanged, we simplified the color palette, updated font selections, and addressed accessibility issues.

We then continued to develop an updated sitemap, and develop a library of website page components to use in building new content pages, including styles for images, headings, buttons, testimonials, and preview blocks for resources, articles, and case studies.

With approvals on the site design, we migrated existing content and built new pages to address the content gaps identified during the audit phase. The new website went live in June 2024.
